Kim Brettschneider

CEO & Founder

Kim Brettschneider founded Brettschneider Executive Search to provide a different kind of executive search experience that combines the expertise of top-tier firms with the focus and attention of a boutique practice. The firm is designed so that senior principals lead every step of the search process, including candidate development, in-depth assessment, referencing, and final placement. No core work is delegated to junior staff, and the number of engagements is intentionally limited to ensure focus, rigor, and exceptional service for every client.

As CEO and Founder, Kim leads C-suite executive and interim searches across sectors, partnering with organizations at pivotal moments of growth to identify transformational leaders. Kim’s team has a long-standing working relationship, leveraging their trust in each other to collaborate seamlessly and strategize effectively at every stage of the search process. The firm also draws on a network of experienced executives, many of whom Kim and her colleagues have previously placed or advised. With offices across the United States, the firm operates nationally while maintaining the hands-on approach of a founder-led practice.

Prior to founding Brettschneider Executive Search, Kim led more than 200 CEO and senior leadership searches for complex organizations ranging from startups to enterprises with over $40 billion in revenue. She previously worked at a firm ranked among the top three in healthcare and higher education executive search, as well as a mid-sized firm, where she partnered closely with boards and founders to recruit presidents, chief executives across finance, revenue, marketing, human resources, and strategy functions.

Kim’s earlier professional experience includes serving as Executive Director of the West Coast office and supporting board members of a $45 million services organization in revenue strategy and policy development. She brings deep expertise in strategic planning, budget development, revenue growth, marketing, human capital strategy, and stakeholder engagement in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments.

She has served on boards and advisory groups supporting health, economic, and education-focused organizations in New York and California, providing governance and leadership counsel during periods of transformation and growth. Her work has been recognized by state and regional elected officials, and she has received multiple awards for leadership and community service.

Kim enjoys practicing French and Spanish.
